Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American-British musician and sitarist. She received the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and also the first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is among India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil and is also his daughter. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the first few years of her life bouncing between London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she staged her first performance in New Delhi. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999.
